Hi everyone, my name is Ryan and I live in Lehigh Acres, Fl. Lehigh is just outside of Ft. Myers in southwest FL. I recently have gotten in bicycling. My dad actually sent me one of his bikes to get me started, a Trek 520 touring bike. I enjoy riding it and am trying to work myself upto riding my first century in about 5-6 months. I'm also looking to get a mountain bike and ride some trails.

On a personal note, I work as a Deputy for the Lee County Sheriff's Office. I've been there for six years. I spent the first five years working in the Maximum Security Jail. This past year I moved into Jail Transport. I love my job. I get to drive all over the state of Florida to different prisons and county jails to either pick up or drop off inmates. There are twelve other Officers in my unit including my supervisor. One of my fellow Officers is also an avid bicyclist. He actually commutes to and from work everyday on his bike, which is something I'd like to start doing soon. I'm married with three kids. I'm very blessed to have a great family and a wife who is very supportive of all my hobbies. I look forward to meeting new people and learning more about cycling.

Welcome to the forum Ryan! You have the ideal terrain to bike to work as it's not too hilly. Heck it's not hilly at all if I remember when I visited Ft Myers! Cruise around the forum here and you're bound to find some new friends. Try the local threads, maybe the general cycling forum, and branch out from there!
