Hello...

My name is Michael... I'm a former cycling addict... Ever since I stopped cycling I've developed this little "pooch" in my midsection. My wife says it's okay but I keep looking at it in the mirror and I can't stop obsessing over it. Memories of top-o-the-line bikes dance in my head from time to time, often waking me from a deep sleep. I don't know what to do... the agony of all!!!!

Ehem... well, enough of that... Hello everyone! I've met a few of you lastnight when I made my first post. I'm going to hang around here for a while and check out the scenery. You all have been helpful thus far.

Michael

... what's that? a call from the office?? Uhhh, tell her to take a msg and I'll get back with them.

Welcome Michael; glad to see you got back into cycling. This is a good place to hang out as you get back into the swing of things.

I have ridden some in Michigan, even got up to Mackinac Is. once.

Glad to have you aboard.

"2old2ride"? No, no, you can't have that screen name. Go back and try again.

And just how old is "2old2ride," anyway?

Be careful with your response. There are a LOT of young "old people" on this forum who take easy offense at those who call mature riders "elderly" and similar stuff (well, maybe not a LOT, but at least one (old person) :0)

So, quit hiding in the bushes and defend your handle, please.

Welcome to BikeForums.

I must agree with the others. There is no such thing as too old!

Surely you've heard the saying, "You don't stop cycling when you get old; you get old when you stop cycling."

I'm 57 and don't consider myself "old".
The calendar might tell you that you're old, but cycling keeps you young.

Welcome 2old2ride.

I hope from this post you are planning to stick around and reconsider riding again.

"Veteran Rider" is a far cry from "2OLD2RIDE." It is not a matter of PC, but of accuracy. If he truly is 2 old 2 ride, then why join the forum?

Anyway, he seems to have totally faded away after his original comments.

Nah, he's trying to sell a bike and hasn't checked back here, at a guess.

Definitely not too old to ride, anyway.
