student/ runner that got hooked on bikes

Hi all, the name's Justin.

i'm a 23 year old, about to be married, about to finish my masters hoping to work for a year while i apply to med school guy originally from paterson, NJ, 6 years of school at carnegie mellon university for undergrad and duquesne for grad in pittsburgh, and i'm moving to maryland, either baltimore or DC suburbs soon.

I've been hooked on cycling because i've grown up as a runner, and really like building on/ working on any type of projects. this led into restoring older bikes, and this has led to really getting into cycling. I currently ride (most of the time) a raleigh record ace purchased sometime in the 80's by my fiancee's dad, which he gave to me to use. for a while i'd converted it to a fixed gear bike but left all the braze ons intace, in order to switch it back (which i did), and built my schwinn sprint as a ss/ fized bike (i guess that shouldnt be past tense, as the build is ongoing.

I've signed up for an olympic distance tri as my first real competitive goal that involves cycling. I hope to get into both road cycling and triathlons, so am currently trying to scrounge up funds for a 58cm cervelo dual/ultegra...999 dollars (probably more like 1200 after shipping and adding some pedals may not seem like much in the cycling world but it is in mine) i think the dual is my current ideal for ease of use in the two disciplines as well as price point on the remaining ultegra bikes.

this intro is somewhat backwards since i've already begun posting a bit, but figured late was better than never. i look forward to participating on the boards, and thanks in advance for all the advice/help many of you will undoubtedly give me (and some already have)

-Justin
