hey everyone, my name is Bailey and I just bought my first road bicycle today!
I used to ride a lot of BMX, every day until/after dark to be exact!
I got into motorcycles and basically stopped riding bikes (well, it didn't help that i sprained my spine)
I was looking into getting another bike last night and decided to get one tonight.
I also took my re-initiation ride tonight...
4.5 miles, and i feel like I'm going to barf! I think my front tire wasn't inflated nearly enough...
I bought a Miyata 312, shimano Exage components, 700cc wheels.
I can't wait to get back in shape, and very possibly covert to a fixie!
how can i tell if they are forged? casting marks?
it is dark silver with a black fade on the headstem and forks are black. some green/pink triangles and it also says splinetriplebutted.
it fits really well i think, it's a 61cm, the first bike i haven't been able to flat foot
It should have forged rear dropouts by your last description. You can tell if they are by looking where the rear wheel enters the frame. Forged dropouts will be thicker in this area, where stamped will be the same thickness throughout the dropout. Here is a pic of my Bianchi, it also comes with adjusting screws for the axle.
That spline triple butted frame sounds like a very good base indeed.
well, it looks like the dropout might be welded onto the frame. it is uniform thickness across, and it looks very smooth.
your bianchis looks like it is sorta molded into the frame, mine looks very distinct..
hope that helps.
very fun to ride a bicycle again though!
