I'm from WAY up north in California...Redding is located at the northern most point of the Central Valley - right as the mountains begin. I think of it as paradise....great weather (300+ sunny days per year), mountain views, beautiful recreational lakes (Shasta and Whiskeytown - with Trinity just a short drive), and not too big (only 70k population).
I'm a husband and father of 3, a 2nd degree black belt in Kenpo that teaches/trains/competes, an avid cyclist that rides for fitness and the "t-shirt" centuries every other weekend April-Oct, a sports car enthusiast, and a dog owner/lover. I've enjoyed cycling since I was a child and got more serious into road biking when I was 17. I just recently started attempting unsupported centuries and plan to explore more of Western US by taking biking vacations. Next summers goal is to do a few 2x centuries...so far Ive only gone 134 mi in a day.
To finance my hobbies and my families "life style", I work for the State of California as a Civil Engineer.
