    Hi from Baltimore, MD

I chanced upon this forum fortuitously, and being a cyclist and without a car for 8 years, was happy to discover a community of persons with similar interests. At age 67, I find few contemporaries to share rides with but manage to enjoy Maryland's many beautiful bike trails solo.

Anyone needing to know something about biking around Baltimore, don't hesitate to ask. I know, most persons don't ' associate Baltimore with beauty, but it's there--except that you stand a better chance of finding in on a bike than in a car. I haven't biked everywhere, but I've been most impressed with the attractions of those places where I have.

    Thanks for the welcome.

I have two. I bought the first in 2003-- a Trek 5700. The second, a Jamis Coda Comp. I still have the Trek. I've equipped it with panniers and use it for food shopping in the city. It's much smoother over Baltimore's potholes and cobblestones than is the Jamis. (I gave up my car 8 years ago). The Jamis serves to provide me with the sheer joy of riding. I think of the Trek as my pickup truck, my much lighter Coda Comp as my Porsche.
