Hey bf! I decided to make an account here after I recently (three days ago) started cycling again. When I was 15 I began cycling and when I was 16 I got very good. I was riding 140 mile rides in the hills and logging about 300-400 miles on a good week. Then I got hit with family problems (family death) and personal problems (mental health problems, dropped out of HS, lost almost all my friends ect) and stopped riding. Now, a year and a half later, Im finaly back on the bike. I have nothing else at this point in life so I'm going to train and far surpass my previous level of fitness.
This is day three and Im already showing significant improvement in my fitness. The first day I did a 20 mile ride and almost didnt make it home. Yesterday I did the same ride and took a harder path home. Today I doubled the mileage to 40 and finished stronger today than yesterday. So thats where I am now.
One thing I miss dearly is all my sprinting power. Its completely gone. Im getting better in the hills each day but I expect a lot of flat group cycling will be needed. Also, whats the deal with the numb big toe? I always had this problem. Are my shoes strapped too tight? Sometimes it will phantomly go away during a ride
