Hi fellow bikers

I'm a 72 YO biker that rides about 16 miles a week. I own a Jamis Coda Comp hybrid, a Breeze Twister Mountain bike and a Greenspeen tadpole recumbent. My wife and I live in central Washington state near Wenatchee. I'm currently selling my Jamis and am looking for a Trek 7.6 or 7.7 FX Hybrid.

Welcome to the forums!

I spent a couple of days in Wenatchee back in the 70's with a friend. Nice area.

Welcome aboard. Always room for one more.

Are you in the 4 season part of WA or the rain forest?

4-seasons

Here in the Wenatchee area we have four seasons but it's tough riding at 100 degrees. It's even tougher when you're trying to ride hard enough to build up the old legs and lungs but it's working. If I cn sell my Jamis and get the Trek I want i'll get even faster. I hate to put the bike away in winter but then out come the cross-country skis.

72

I'm lucky or blessed with good genes. My mom died last year at 99 and her whole family are long lived. I really like the outdoors and bike three quarters of the year and cross-country ski in the winter. This year I'm going to do more of both the biking and the skiing.

Rain Forest

I'm a California transplant and have decided that the "Rain Forest" people in this state are suffering from the major wet. In the winter they are always on TV complaining that the "just lost everything" in a flood again! Again? How many time is this going to happen? In the cold all you see on TV are scenes of cars and trucks sliding aroung running into each other. No snow tires nor AWD! Maybe they need a good set of snow tires! We're just going through a heat wave up here including the "rain forest" area. They keep crying about how hot it is (low 100s) and none of the stores have air conditioners or fans. Why do they wait till it's so hot to decide to buy an air conditioner? Here in Central Washington almost everybody has a 4WD or AWD vehicle. We all have homes with air conditioning built in and we don't have floods because we don't build in flood zones.
I'm sure that the almost perpetual wet rots their brains. None of the sports teams are winners and politically - OMG!!
