Hi everyone from Portland, OR!
Hi everyone! Just happened upon this site while Googling for upgrades to my current jalopy, and after lurking a bit it appears to be a great site!
About Me:
Just got back into biking (last time I was into biking I was 16, and that was out of necessity).
So anyway, I recently got a Mongoose Snare mountain bike from Wal Mart https://www.walmart.com/catalog/produ...ct_id=10927844 and I've been slowly getting better. For example, when I first got it a couple months ago, I got winded riding down the street. Now just today (According to the G1 phone Cardio Trainer) I went 12.13 miles in 1:04:09, with an average speed of 11.3 mph, and a climb of 461.9 ft. (Mind you this is a 39 lb. $199 full-suspension mountain bike with push pedals, and the ride includes about 2 miles of "transit time" where every-other block is a stop-sign until I can get to the Springwater Corridoor and open her up, so I think that's pretty good for me).
Anyway, I'm looking to get a dedicated road bike, and my research resulted in multiple hits to this site, so I figured I'd join because I'll likely have tons of questions along my journey.
