Hi from Kansas
I've been on and off the bicycle for the last 10 years or so, with a few trips to Moab under my belt. Last year in March I had a total left hip replacement. That slowed me down for a while, but now it's no problem at all. In June, after several months of no bike riding, I decided to get back in shape, and day before yesterday (Sunday) I rode my first century since 2005. Took me a while (7 hour, 48 minutes, plus breaks), but I did it! Not too bad for a 50+ fat man with a fake hip.
Anyway, I've been lurking around here the last few days and it looks like a friendly place with lots of good info. I'm looking forward to spending some time here.
Take it easy,
Welcome to Bike Forums. Congratulations on completing the century, that's quite an accomplishment! You might want to check out the Fifty Plus and Long Distance forums.
