Need help with date of Hardrock

Need help with date of Hardrock
I received this bike as a gift about twenty years ago. I cannot find the date of mfg. anywhere; even tried specialized - records to 1990 only. I'm going to try to add a picture but not real savvy with this site. The bike is a light green-blue color with pink lettering; it has Suntour thumb shifters, 18 speed. Thanks for any help.

Ask in Classic and Vintage section. Someone may be able to interpret the frame serial number to give this info.
