Hello from New England!

Massachusetts, to be more specific. ;)

Attempting to get more seriously into biking, need some form of physical activiy to get some exercise, and bike riding is possibly the one form of exercise that I enjoy enough that I might actually stick with it (I always get bored with exercising purely for it's own sake :o ).

Anyway, I had 2000 Trek VRX 300 that I bought 9 years ago to go downhill riding with a coworker. I enojyed that for a couple years, but then the bike ended up sitting around for a long time. I recently decided that I wanted to try riding it again, but I thought it was going to need a lot of maintenance. Turns out all it needed was some air in the tires and rear shock, and it was good to go. However, while that bike was fine for off-road riding, it wasn't so great for regular riding on paved roads. Hence my most recent purchage, a 2009 Trek 7.3 FX. :D

Anyway, I look forward to talking to other cyclists on this forum. I can already tell there's a ton of good information and knowledgeable people here. I look forward to getting to know you all. :D

Welcome to the Forums. I'm a year round commuter from Kenmore Square in Boston to Norwood and an occasional centurian.

To be more specific, whereabouts in Massachusetts are you and what kind of riding do you currently do?

I live in Taunton currently. It's pretty much recreational riding at this point. I don't have as much time for it as I would like, most of the time I do have is at night. Not my favorite time to go riding, but better than nothing. I haven't tackled anything real serious yet. Longest rides so far have probably been in the 8-9 mile range. I'm looking to increase that, but I'm trying to work out some good riding routes that don't have a lot of heavy traffic, which is a little tough since I live right on Rte 138.
