Hello -
I was an avid cyclist back in high school, but lost touch with it over the years. Got back into it recently now that I have a home with storage space. My wife bought me Trek 4300 mountain bike for my birthday two years ago, and I've been riding it as much as I can ever since.
I started running a lot last year as well. Did a few events, and enjoyed myself tremendously.
A couple frineds of mine participate in about 2 or 3 triathlons a year, and have gotten me extremely interested in doing one myself. As a result I decided not to long ago that I need a road bike. Unfortunately I have a young child and other responsibilities that are keeping me from going out and buying the road bike of my dreams. Instead I've decided to buy a late 80's Schwinn World frame and fork, and build it up to something I can use on the cheap. I will be doing all the work myself, and have purchased the frame w/fork for $30. I expect to spend in the area of $200 to $300 on used items over the next year or so to get to where I want to be.
I look forward to using the forums provided here along my journey, and anticipate welcome feedback of your knowledge and experience.
Thanks,
Sanford
