hi another newbie here NYC

hello
i'm quite new to the sport - as a matter of fact i just purchased my very first road bike less than a month ago. and i LOVE it - it's a Specialized Dolce Sport . I never realized how HEAVY my mountain bike is till I rode on my road bike.

I recently timed myself in central park and on average I can do a lap in about 23 minutes when I give it all I can. (ok, before the serious cyclists start laughing - I know it's not fast at all but I'm quite happy with the result. My hubby thought it would take me around 28 - 30 min to do a full lap!)

I am hoping my techniques will improve enough that next year I can join some group rides with some cycling club.

Are there any cyclists here also on a gluten free diet? Ever since I have picked up cycling I feel hungry all the time - maybe rice noodle is just not as filling as regular pasta.

cheers

Nice bike - I hope it is better than your husband's, or else you will have to trade it in for one that is.

Welcome to Bike Forums. You might check out the Training and Nutrition forum for other gluten-free riders.

There is a women's forum that you are eligible to gain access to after posting for a month. Send a PM to Siu Blue Wind (administrator) to get access.
