Rock Solid Greetings From The Granite State

Greetings, I am 56 years old, 6' tall and currently weigh 350. I hope to use my MTB to lose weight. I just picked it up yesterday. I bought a 08' leftover Specialized Hardrock Sport. it took me awhile to find one. I finally did, online and bought it from the fabulous folks at WheelWorks in Belmont, MA. I plan to ride it primairly on pavement and smooth bike paths here in the Lakes Region of NH.

I had always enjoyed bike riding when I was younger and lighter. So, I decided the best way for me to start losing some serious weight would be to do what I enjoy.

I would like to swap out the stock tires for something more suited to my riding surface choices, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Also, I would love to hear any tips from those of you who have successfully lost weight with the aid of bicycling as a primary form of exercise.

I want to add a wireless computer to it. Something simple, I really only need want to know speed, total distance and trip distance. Any suggestions there would also be welcomed or for any "should have" accessories.

This looks like a great forum, I hope to learn lots here.
