New here, but not new to biking!

Hi everyone,

I'm new here. My name is Jenny. My husband and I got into mountain biking when we lived in Colorado. We are now in NY (western new york area) and are hoping to continue our biking. So if any of you are in the area or have been before and know some good biking spots please let me know.

Salud,
Jenny

Welcome to Bike Forums, Jenny. Check out the Northwest regional forum, we have lots of NY riders here.

There is a women's forum that you can gain access to after posting for a month. Send a PM to Siu Blue Wind (administrator) to get access.

Hai there - boy you moved from CO to NY - long move - and yes many NY riders here, although I think many are NYC - I'm mid-upper NYS. Not sure where you hail from, or what you ride - but we were just totally successful for Monroe County to finally legally access the parks/trails with mtb, not to mention the many fine MUPS in place.

Here's a partial list of NYS bicycling clubs.

I'm also a member of GROC - Genesee Regional offroad club (as well as the roadie club) - but I wanted to point out was that we've had a 4 year span of crits and last year's omnium bike races - and were to have had the official UCI Tour de New York span out of here this year ...NYS withdrew funding due to etc, etc. But it's happening next year. Next year will be based out of Rochester, and the year following will be different - encompassing more of NYS. So keep an eye out for it.

Welcome!
