Hello from Cape Town, South Africa

Hi All,

Long time lurker first time poster.

I have just got back into cycling after a 7+ year break. I commute a short distance(10 Km) to work and take a longer ride on the weekend. The most challenging thing so far is trying to fit both cycling, golf and extra work into what is becoming a very short weekend.

Thanks to all for some very interesting posts and hope to continue reading (and hopefully posting) for a long time to come.

I ride a road bike Raceline - Performance. Sora components bought when I was working in Australia and shipped back to South Africa when I moved back. I don't think they make Raceline anymore bought out by Apollo bikes I think but I could be mistaken.

My route is a mixture of quiet side streets, busy roads that are not to bad and one short piece of absolute mayhem that scares me everytime I ride on it.

hoe gaan dit boet?
Yah, I'm american but lived in Jo'burg for 5 years. Not the friendliest of places to bike
(except during the 94.7 Highveld challenge).
If Jsharr (another moderator) comes in here don't believe him, there are a few things I won't do
for Biltong, Poitke or a good Braiivleis.
There's an Africa subforum but not much goes on there (i.e. one post every 6 months or so).
One of my Scuba Instructors is now down in Cape area, and I really need to get back to
visit.
Oh well, enjoy the forums.
Groete
