Greetings from Southern California!
Hello fellow riders!
I never knew what all the hub bub was about when I'd see all these people riding bikes all over the place' "Get off the damn road and get on the sidewalk!" but I now understand and see the light. I have absolute respect for those bicycling wherever they are.
I'm getting into the game late as I'm in my mid 30's but I'm having an absolute blast cruising around the paved trails they have around my local area.
I'm from South Orange County. In my desire to get some exercise I decided buy a bike on the cheap (Magna Target 26") to see whether or not I would like bicycling and stick with it. So far 3 months into it I'm loving it. I enjoy my rides so much I don't look at going out for a bike ride as exercise...it's a treat! Like if I was going to my local poolhall to shoot a game of pool...except it's actually good for me.
Everytime I go out I want to go farther and further than I did on my previous ride. I'm reading many of the threads on the forums daily and learning from other members input about the science behind the sport.
Already 3 months into it I can see and feel the positive effects cycling has made in my life. I look forward to many years of bicycling, building my stamina/endurance to test myself, and learning from other cyclists here on bikeforums.net.
Cheers!

Indeed they're all over the place. They're blowing by me and I'm eating their dust.
I'll head over there now (Southern California regional forum).
Thanks for the warm welcome!
