    Sup from WNY

Hey guys, name's Thach (it's pronounced "tock." Like for real haha). I'm 17 and from Buffalo NY. I'm a complete n00b at this, and I mean totally complete haha. But I work on cars and am familiar with forums so I thought I'd see if there was a bike forum and hey! this one popped up first on the list. I hope to learn a lot more about bikes as time passes, though.

I found this bike in my basement and I decided to renew it and give it to my girlfriend. I'm not sure of what the name is, but it says like slight weight 5 or something on it. It's gonna be one of my many projects, but hopefully it'll be done soon.

    Here's a pic:

And this is my project car, a 1992 Acura Integra . It's a lot more completed than this, but I thought I'd show something a bit more raw (sorry if this doesn't really belong, I'll happily delete it if you want)

Tell me what you guys think. Any advice/info would be great!

Welcome to Bike Forums, Thach. Post a photo of your bike in the Classic & Vintage forum. I'm sure they can help you identify it.

Tuesdays and Thursdays at the old police station on Corner of Colvin and (can't think of name, begins with L) you'll find Buffalo Blue Bicycles meeting. They start around 7:30pm and have a pretty complete shop, advise, etc. Very friendly folks. I haven't been by in a long while, but have biked past (between Amherst and Hertel) and see they are still there. I am sure they can help. C&V is also great on this forum for advice on any older bike, or even most new ones.

I grew up in Buffalo (Cheektowaga, actually). Welcome to the forums. Take a pic of the bike from the other side, and give us closeups on the chain and derailleur and stuff. That will give us better clues as to what you have. No matter what, it has classic lines for sure.

On the chromed parts, try scrubbing with aluminum foil and lemon juice. You may be shocked at the chrome underneath.

I wish I could stop by but I work 6-9pm. The guys in Classic & Vintage said it's a department store bike, so I've got that figured out.

Aluminum foil and lemon juice...will do! Thanks for the tip
