Search for the perfect saddle

Greetings,
I am 57 years old, have been riding a road bike for also 30 years and still have not found a saddle that is comfortable. Gel pads are a waste of time and I have even tried the Moon saddle without success. Any suggestions? My barn is littered with saddles that I have discarded. Please give me hope.
Robin

Search for the perfect saddle

I am riding a Bontrager Sportlux. It's one of those saddles with the center groove designed to eliminate numbness. The dealer I bought it from had one of the Bontrager seat measuring pads that determines the distance between your sit bones. Initially it feels confortable but after about ten miles I start feeling a dull ache.

That looks way to soft to me.
Have you tried a racing saddle.
I have 10 years on you and 12,565 miles this year.
I like the hard saddles.

I like the infamous Brooks B-17 the best; but, also think very highly of Specialized Body Geometry saddles.

Be prepared to put in significant miles, before the Brooks, and you, meld.

Check out the "Who rides what saddle? A popularity contest." thread for some ideas.
