New guy here ... south Jersey

Hi all! I've already been searching the forum quite a bit trying to make a decision on buying a bike and dating my current bike. I've been riding for about 23 years ... started in high school and rode very regularly strictly for fitness (helped my tennis, basketball, and soccer endurance). Last year I got my bike out again and started riding regularly again. Again riding for the pure fitness and enjoyment. I did two MS charity rides last year and hoping to do another one soon. My bike is a beautiful (or at least it was) Peugeot PE200 Tourmalet. Recently was in a fender bender with a Saturn and my fork and front wheel paid the price. Anyone who might have a fork with an 8 3/4" steerer ... I am on the lookout (will likely make a post in search of such). Anyway ... like the forum might help me steer towards a new bike too.

Hey there. In case you haven't already, post a quick text concerning your fork in the Vintage forum, it'll draw the attention of at least two so French bike savy members, all of whom are exp. & helpfull. Soliciting for parts or bikes in some cases warrants the sections of these forums but in your case it's more about specific "advice" let's call it. As far as finding out about bikes, by poking around you'll see. I saw a photo of a bike posted by a member asking about it , then a member pointed out stress cracks in the paint which indicated trama had occured in the bike, all of which could've gone unnoticed by others had she not stated it. It may or may not pertain to you and yours, it just goes to show that here in these forums, you learn stuff whether you want to or not.
