new to the sport

hey my names justin and i just bought my first mountain bike yesterday. i'm obviously new and am just trying to learn as much as i can about the sport. any advice you may have for beginners would be welcome.

thanks for the welcome. so i'll start off i bought a 24 speed trek series 4 hardtail bike with disc brakes. Good choice?
