Hello from Arlington Heights, IL
I just got back in from a 25 miler, and I thought to myself it’s about time that I posted my "hello". I registered a few weeks ago and I have been snooping around the Forum doing a lot of research and picking up a lot of information since I have been out of bicycling for a few years. Two reasons for my absence from bicycling; firstly wedded bliss (I’m not giving any excuses), and secondly I herniated my disk (L5, S1) about 15 months ago, which subsequently compressed my sacral nerve which in turn is now effecting the nerve to my left leg thereby causing a constant tingling in my left foot (I don’t recommend this type of issue to anyone, and boy don't I sound like a whiner). After many visits to my chiropractor in Highland Park (I am a true believer of Chiropractic care) I am back on my bike and loving every minute of it.
Both of my rides are Klein; Road Bike - Quantum Race (Ultegra) circa 2000. Mountain Bike - Klein Pinnacle (XT) (Jerry Seinfeld green) circa 1996.
I look forward to contributing if I have anything important to add, I look forward to many years back on my bikes, and most importantly getting reacquainted with other riders in the Northwest burbs of Chicago and in and around Madison WI (when I go to visit my sister and her family).
Be well everyone.
Mike

Well welcome back to the sport. I have been off the bike myself since this past May with herniated disk at my L4 and L5 and a bone putting pressure on my sciatic nerve. I had a lumbar laminectomy about 6 weeks ago so I will be off the bike a while longer. I also am a "victim" of the wedded bliss thing also.
Good luck on your return to the sport and welcome to the forum!
