help with 105 hubs from bike24.net

hi

I bought some 105 hubs (HB-5600 and FH-5600) to build some new wheels. I bought them from bike24.net (a German site) as they were the cheapest (£22). the hubs don't seem great quality. when you spin them, they come to a stop after a couple of turns, and you can feel the bearings grating as you hold the axle. I wasnt expecting that. I feel 105 is enough of a premium range to warrant good manufacture

1. Is this a quality issue or a counterfeit issue?
2. Am I being picky, should it be ok after i have run the wheels for a few miles (I think not, as I expect it to be right first go with bearings)

Has anyone else had a similar experience with 105 hubs? or with stuff from bike24.net? I will have to send the hubs back, but I have already built the wheels, so its a pain

Hi jason and welcome to BikeForums. This is the Introductions forum.

Adjusting hubs is a simple task. If you want more info on adjusting, ask in the Bicycle Mechanics forum or look at sites like ParkTool.com. --> https://www.parktool.com/repair/readhowto.asp?id=105
