I am new to cycling. 4 years ago I was 40 pounds overweight and took up running. I lost the 40 pounds in a year and was able to complete a half-marathon with my brother a year ago, one of the proudest moments of my life. Well, I don't know what happened mentally, but I stopped exercising completely after the HM. I put on the 40 pounds again and was having a hard time running so I picked up cycling, which I've been enjoying. Just when I was making progress however, the cool weather hit and I'm afraid I'm going to lose any progress I've made over the summer. I've plenty of questions about riding in the winter, rain, etc. because I don't want to stop riding just because the weather sucks.
I own a Specialized Sirrus Sport, which I love. Again, I'm new to this, but am enjoying it tremendously. My goal is to lose the 40 pounds cycling and then combine running and cycling.
