From Atlanta,GA

I'm a 53 year old woman who has been riding a road bike to stay fit for the past two years since multiple foot surgeries have taken away my ability to run - and I LOVE it! I ride 70-90 a week and am getting ready to do a 120 mile bike fundraiser on the Silver Comet. Any advise? I'm most concerned about our ever changing weather!

Welcome!!!

You will like the comet. Weather here can be unpredictable but usually not so cold.

Welcome to BikeForums.

Stop by the Southeast Regional subforum and say hello to the locals in the Atlanta/Decatur thread. Lots of discussion about the Silver Comet Trail there.

Dont wear rain clothes on expectation of rain, just put them on when it starts raining. Rain pantsand a shower cap to put over your helmet, will make things easier if you get heavy rain. Since it isnt a race you should also consider stopping under cover in periods of heasvy rain. Good luck!
