hello from philly

Hi, from the mainline.

I've ridden bikes my whole life and have always ridden fair distances and commuted on my cannondale hybrid, which I also use for trail, single track, and light mountain riding (no technical downhill stuff).

Recently, though, a friend let me borrow his road bike to do a 150 mile charity ride and I've gotten really into it. Now I'm looking to get a touring bike to use for commuting and loaded touring. The same friend pointed me to this forum as a good place to pick up info.

So thanks for all the helpful threads and good advice. I'll be reading a lot of it.

Go Phillies!

"Yo, how YOU doin'?" Greetings from the Philly 'burbs (Montco). That was a pretty good game tonight, eh? Three more games just like that, please!

Was the charity ride the MS150 City to Shore ride?

You might enjoy the Regional / Northeast, Charity Rides, Road Riding, Commuting, and Touring forums. In addition, a lot of members from Bike Forums often meet at the Lancaster Bicycle Club's Covered Bridges Metric Century every August. It's a great chance to meet the people behind the user names, and to put faces with names. Maybe we'll see you there next year? Welcome to the Forums, and I hope you enjoy your time here.

Meanwhile, go Phillies!

Yeah, man, the MS150 city to shore. It was a lot of fun and got me hooked on road riding. It's a lot more fun than I imagined. Thanks for the tips on other rides to join.

And GO Phillies! Pedro is up tonight, and I hope we get a "vintage" performance.
