Greetings from Columbus, Ohio

Just ordered a Jamis Commuter 2 - should arrive by end of the week. Am a recent lung cancer survivor, looking for a way to get some exercise while seeing more of our extensive Metro Park system. Have not owned or ridden a bicycle since freshman year in college (it was stolen during my first semester). Because am still in surgical recovery mode I robably won't be able to do much riding until spring, but I'll certainly give the new bike a spin at least once a week until the snow/ice slows me down.

Anyone else on the Forum from Columbus and in the 50+ age group?

Cheers,
Nancy 50+

Welcome to BF, Nancy. I am in the area but not in the 50+ group yet - close enough though! There are lots of riders in central Ohio. Be sure to check out Consider Biking, a local advocacy group that is doing great things for us central Ohio cyclists.

Get on the bike whenever the sun shines and enjoy those parks. You dont have to establish speed records.

Welcome! Make sure also to check out yaybikes.org - they host a local [Columbus] bicycling forum that can be a lot of help for planning routes, or anything else for that matter.
