Salutations from Logan Square, Chicago

Figured I might as well... I live in Chicago, am a student, and don't have a car. My ambition not to ride public transit whatsoever has been broken by a recent knee strain/minor crash running. I play drums in a sludge metal band.
My bikes:
A 1985 Bianchi Classica tourer in very nice lilac-tinted silver powdercoat paint (scratched up since this is my daily ride), set up with a fixed gear, 48x17. I really like riding fixed, or I did until I tried running and overdid it like a fool.
and a touring bike which is in Kansas, the dark blue 1973 Fuji Finest, mostly with Campagnolo Nuevo Record parts, completely restored paint.
I'm looking for a new road bike right now.

I'm curious, how did your touring bike wind up in Kansas without you?

Knee feels good, unfortunately no pix of the Bianchi and no camera... a shame since its a beautiful color.
I'm from Kansas and can get more distance riding in there so the Fuji's safe at home.
I go to Columbia downtown for cultural studies.
