Greetings from Texas

Howdy all, I'm oilcrash. I live in the North Dallas area. I am new to cycling and bicycle maintenance. I got the bug for it while on a deployment in Iraq. I had an old mongoose ATB that had been passed from soldier to soldier. I have 4 older bikes I am working on including an '83 Peugeot, two Univegas (Activa 200 and Supra Sport) and a Motobecane Nomade II (made in China).

Welcome to Bike Forums and thanks for your service! We have a lot of Texas riders here.

Check out the Classic & Vintage forum, and post some photos of your bikes there.

Hi! I'm new to cycling and in the DFW area too. Now that the rain has stopped get out and explore the bike paths - I've been surprised at how extensive they are. Of course, convincing cars that indeed the road is clearly marked for bike traffic is another story, http://cycledallas.org/ has lots of info and is a good place to start. and http://bikedfw.org has tons of info and a listing of local clubs in and around the metroplex. Welcome to town! -Shelley
