New member, New rider.

Hey everyone!

My name is Daniel, I just picked up my first road bike (Actually a hybrid, or so I've been told) off of criagslist for $250. It is a Trek 750 white with red lettering and had after market performance road bike bars installed and she is in excellent condition. I decided to take up road biking (And in the future mountain biking, hopefully) because running isn't much fun and its more shocking on my knees than bicycling.

I'm currently enrolled in a tech school at the age of twenty five. I live close and started commuting to school in the mornings and taking an extended way home to keep the blood flowing for at least 45 minutes. I started that about a month ago. The Trek I knew wasn't anything special which is why I decided to start out on that. Cheap and I don't have a need or a clue for all the bells and whistles.

I'm interested in competition road bike sprint racing when I settle back into California in May. So I decided to sign up to a community that is knowledgeable and can help a new guy get acquainted with this sport.

That's me! Thanks in advanced and hello once again to everyone!

Welcome and you did good with the Trek.
Riding is a learning experience.
Ride slow, speed will come as you will quickly get faster.

Always a treat to meet another "Trekkie". In time you will come to appreciate it. Treks are unique from that era US made, excellent tubing and design. I ride a 560, 620 and sort of miss the 850 mountain bike that was stolen. Each has contributed to maintaining my heath and providing lots of great memories and fun.
