Hello from the Media City!
Hey everybody,
I'm nick, new poster, new road cyclist! I live in Burbank, CA in Los Angeles. Yes, it's unfortunate, it seems like there are more cars than people in this city, but there are still lots of great roads and windy paths that I'm looking forward to trekking.
Cheers,
Nick

Welcome to Bike Forums, Nick. Check out the Southern California regional forum for other riders in your area.
What kind of bike do you ride?

Well I'm actually on the market for a bicycle right now. I was looking at road bikes, but after some research I've come to realize I cannot afford an entry-level road bike. I think I will purchase a single-speed as I am in college and live in a relatively flat city.
Do you have any recommendations? I noticed you live in SoCal, so if you know anyone selling an older/used/decent bike let me know

I'm in North San Diego County. If you post a message in the Southern California regional forum I'm sure you will get several recommendations on where to look for a decent bike in the LA area.
