New guy,from California

Hello, I'm new to bike forums , I live on the central coast of california. I just got into biking last year. I don't know what happened, but I now own 7 bikes. I've been working on them more than riding. I have a Townie, a giant, a miyata, a nishiki ,a fuji and a basso. My friends say it's a sickness

Hah dude I know what you mean. I got my first bike back in late September, and now I have three. Just can't pass up a good deal, I guess! My dad says I "caught the bug".

I've purchased 4 bikes in 6+ - months. Purchased a Globe Carmel because I didn't know if I would like riding again (did it in my 20's). I was immediately HOOKED again. Purchased a Sp Sirrus 3 months later, Didn't think I wanted a drop bar. Saw a 2008 Sp Roubaix Expert for $2k OTD. Couldn't say "NO". Loved the Sp Roub. Got tired of the relaxed geometry and JUST purcahsed a Madon 5.5. I think I'm done for a few weeks :-) I live in the east SF bay (Pleasant Hill). Where do you ride?

I wish I had the enthusiasm that u all have for the love of biking.... i used to drive to the beach and meet fiance who rode and he insisted i would enjoy. So after i bought him a bianchi for xmas he felt he could get me a biketo as ride together. Unfortunately that didnt work out, he bought me a univega competizione, with all the extras and off we went. I shouldve done a flat ride instead of the hilly one he chose. Needless to say I was pedaling slower than one would walk and he said so and everything was numb so that pretty much did it for me. Those 6 miles were Hell for me.

I covered the bike and put in garage and its been there ever since.

some pics....

You can sell your bike on the local craigslist, It might just be the wrong type of bike, and riding for you. My wife, and I started on short rides , local bike trails, on comfort bikes, Electra , Townie, I went on to road bikes, she had no interest in them, When we ride together, I get out my Townie. Good Luck, Don't give up yet, Ride with another new rider, or friend.
