From beautiful downtown Leander, the Northern edge of the Texas Hill Country

Retired in Austin, TX, settled in Leander, not too long a trip if I want the "Big City" life, again. I could get used to doing nothing, with a little time.

I overhauled a Raleigh Sport 3, changed tires/tubes, tightened up the spokes on the original wheels, put new grips on, replaced the (stupid plastic) pulley that old Raleighs use for the fulcrum on the 3 speed hub. Then the cable frayed, so I replaced that, and then the brake pads, and then the bearings in the wheels began to go, and I didn't want to repair them (ALL STEEL! Yes, and you are proud of that?)

So I ordered up a heavier duty bike to see if it would be more reliable, more comfortable, more fun, more useful (not necessarily in that order). I like to be a bit different, so I ordered an ACID GREEN Torker Cargo-T. (If the cage drivers miss that, then they are not trying. Yeah, I know.)

Doctor diagnosed Arthritis of the lower back, shoulders, hips, etc, so basically I'm riddled with it. Need to get back into exercise. Swimming or bicycling, so hows the water?
