New life for old bike
I'm an old time cyclist from the early days of the bike boom; started on an entry level Fuji, upgraded to an oversized Trek touring frame, built up with a collection of mostly early Dura-ace when I decided to try touring (remember Bikecentennial?). A few years later I started getting serious about racing and scored a serious gem in an all night frame swap with a friend who wanted a larger and more relaxed commuter frame in exchange for his '72 Condor Touring. I ended up with a sweet ride that has served me in all capacities, racing, touring, commuting, climbing (Pike's Peak), and endurance (Davis Double). It has fallen into serious disuse in recent decades and I'm a little rounder for it, but payback is coming.
Last week I finally got my hands on an almost complete vintage Campy groupo (patent 73, well used, for a song, no not e-bay) and it is time to return her to her original glory. It was painful indeed to watch those Campy parts come off 30 years ago, but this spring is going to be fun.
I'll be hangin' with the C&V crowd mostly, I'll need some help with the decals and paint, tools and the trickier installation issues. I'll post a few "before" pics soon.
