New Guy from Broomall, PA

Hi All,

I have recently turned 50 and have been cycling for about 10 years now. I loved it when I was a kid but somehow got away from it in my teenage years. I am now in better shape then I ever was. I first bought a Giant Sedona comfort bike in 2000 and rode the Schuylkill river trail for a few years. I liked the look of the road bikes I saw on the trail and finally bought one in 2004. I was only riding on the asphalt anyway. In 2007 I bought a used 2005 Fuji Professional from a co-worker. This is a great all carbon Dura-ace equipped bike and I still ride it. I also recently bought a used Cannondale tandem road bike from a guy on craigs list so my wife can get involved. I was still in the process of getting the bugs out of it when the weather got too bad to ride. We only got about 125 miles on it so far. I keep my first road bike in southeast florida at my mom's condo. Riding in florida really makes you appriciate the beautiful farmlands of pennsylvania.

Thanks for reading.

Hello Len, Welcome to Bike Forums.
Post some pics when you get the wife on the tandem.
Just took my last ride of the year in the fog. Yuck.

I bet riding in Florida also remind you of how cold and nasty it gets here in PA too.

Welcome to BikeForums. I'm the same age as you, and there are a lot of people here who got away from cycling when they were young, and came back to it in their 40's. You'll fit right in.

Welcome back to cycling. While that farmland may be nice to look at - it's the 12 month riding year that makes Florida a great place to ride.
