Just wanted to say hello! I'm a 39 y/o M Firefighter/Paramedic in The Woodlands Texas (Just north of Houston). I'm in the Clydes group and just coming off shoulder surgery after being hurt at work. I have numerous friends that like to ride so to get back in shape I got a Scott Speedster S10 LTD just yesterday. Goals #1 Have fun! #2 get back in shape. #3 Shiner 100 road race May 1st 2010! Can you get in shape and do a century in only 4 months?? Anyways here's to a new addiction and Happy New Year to all!

Welcome to Bike Forums! If you work at it, you should be able to finish your century ride on May 1st. Check out the Long Distance forum for training tips.
