New to bikeforums, new to biking (for the most part)
Hi. I'm new to bikeforums, just joined today, Jan 27. I usually just used my old mountainbike whenever I'd go onto the roads, but one day I noticed a particularly dusty bike hanging from a hook in the corner of my mom's garage. Turned out to be a Ross Signature 290S. Only thing I had to do to it to have it road ready was replace inter tubes and tires. But that was it. So that's my story, and now I'm here. So...hi.

Welcome John to Bike Forums.
Do you know who rode the Ross before you?

I don't know much about the Ross Signature 290S specifically, but there is a pretty good example of one here: https://re-cycle.com/bikes.aspx?pic=3048. The ones I've seen have a good lugged frame and okay components (Ishiwata steel tubing!). Not bad at all. Enjoy what you have!

The Ross belonged to my mother and she bought it, what in the eighties or something.. I think she bought it new. However, it barely hit the streets and was kept inside for 20 or so years, and last summer, I fixed it up.

My Ross is the exact same as that one, but with black handlebars. I had to get rid of the original tires though, because they were pretty badly dry rotted...but other than that the same.
