I know who you all are

Hello there,
I have already posted once, but then saw this category. I have been reading this forum for advice since last fall, and joined a couple of months ago. I have more time now, easy access to the Web, and frankly I got tired of waiting for my friends to e-mail me, because they don't. Maybe this will give some fuel to my linguistic life. Most of you seem to be interesting (at least in your computer persona) and have some of the same interests as me. I am an avid commuter, and am very interested in social and environmental issues--especially ones that concern me, as I don't tend to have a choice as to whether to be involved or not. I was dragged into this world kicking and screaming, and still am, though now in a quiet, meditative way. I've got things to say, and things to ask, just not everyday. I'll be in touch.

Welcome to the Forums Oxy. (I thought this was gonna be a death-threat thread from the title.) I must have the same friends as you. I can understand snail mail being a pain, but even email seems like too much trouble for some people.
Where is Gjoa Haven? I thought my geography was pretty good, but you stumped me.

LoL, me too.

Glad you decided to post, Oxymoron. Yeah, some of us are pretty cool here. I'm looking forward to your opinions on the issues.

And I thought I was the only one whose friends didn't use email.

I will never understand how somebody can have a computer and be online and not use email. I feel like saying to those people, "Did you ever hear of the twentieth (or now, twenty-first) century?"

Saddest of all, they're all younger than me.
