    Hi from South Louisiana

    Hi Y'all,

I've been reading the posts here for several days and decided to join today. I enjoy cycling for fun and fitness and have recently joined a club. I have a Diamondback mountain bike which has given me many years of enjoyment both on-road and off-road. One of my favorite rides is cruising the miles of sugar cane fields which surround the area I live in. Since joining the club however, I am looking at obtaining a road bike also since I can't keep up with them on the mountain bike. I am also interested in training for some fun charity events. My other favorite hobby is scuba diving. I think cyclists and divers are some of the finest people and make the best friends! I'm looking forward to increasing my knowledge and enjoyment of the sport of cycling through my local club and this excellent site.

    Happy Trails,
    Cindy

    Welcome Cindy!

Lots of serious racers in the Cajun country. Are you hoping to race one day?

I'd have done the LA/MS Time Trial a couple of weekends ago in New Orleans if I'd have been able to find a babysitter!

    Hi there Moonshot,

I could conceivably see a competitive aspect to cycling at some point in the future. As for now, I am considering myself a newbie, even though I have enjoyed cycling for years on a solo basis. In the past, I have basically viewed it as the most enjoyable "cardio of choice" to keep fit. Actually, I enjoy swimming just as much. Since joining the club here, it has become so much more enjoyable socially. I am very open to exploring all aspects of the sport I was previously unaware of.
Endorphins - the natural high! Gotta luv em!
