Howdy

Hello everybody! I've been reading this forum for a week or so and decided to stop just lurking around and say hi. I'm 27 and looking to start riding again to get back into shape and for the fun of it (obviously). Growing up I rode recreationally with friends and wanted to start that back up. My real motivation is to get into (good enough) shape in time for the Boilermaker in July, which is a 15km run in Utica, NY.

Since I'm all grown up I also decided it was time to put my old/cheap MTB out to pasture (donation) and buy a real bike. After looking around at the few LBS's around me I went for the Fuji Absolute 3.0. I get to pick it up today with the weather outlook nice and sunny and entirely too much work to leave the office . At least the rest of the week looks just as warm and sunny .

cool, welcome back to cycling. I had my own come-back of sorts a couple of years ago when I was 27 too. It was something I did with my Dad and having moved away from home after highschool, I didn't do it anymore, but now I've come to enjoy the physical benefits and recreational value on a whole new level than I did when I was a young lad. Where are you finding warm and sunny in NY? I moved here to TN from VT and went out for a ride yesterday morning and was misrable cold, - it was 42 out.

It topped out at 64 F today with barely a cloud in the sky. Of course it was about 35 this morning. Gotta love the temperature swings in the Northeast.
