Howdy from the Bay Area

Hi Everyone,
I have found many answers and interesting threads through this site over the last few months, as a result of google searching bicycle related info. So, I figured, why not join... and then I can ask my questions directly and share what knowledge I may have as well.
I've worked in bike shops for the last 3 years, and have acquired a mini corral of my own bicycles... I started off being into road bikes, but recently I'm way more into cross and touring bikes. I found that working as a woman in the bicycle industry can be difficult and after 3 years I recently decided to quit... or at least take a hiatus. I have been going by the local community bike workshop though and I plan to volunteer there when I have the time. So, I'm happy to keep a hand in bicycles, to keep on learning, and to have this forum as a resource as well.
Well, thanks for having me and happy searching!

Oh, one thing I forgot... I'm a pretty petite woman... I have tiny legs. I've been through the ringer finding frames that fit me well and I have a lot of professional experience fitting customers to bikes. So, I think i can be a good resource for smaller female riders who are having a hard time finding a good fit or understanding frame geometry. Feel free to PM me if you have any questions regarding this stuff.

Thanks for the welcoms!
I'm building up a Soma Double Cross, I'd been back and forth about buying it for a year... but now that I have it I'm excited. I know its not technically a tourning bike, but I am small, and it's been hard to find a tournig frame that fits me. I ride like a 49cm frame, and older tournig bikes in that size are just impossible to find. I've found 2 and someone has been looking at/buying them when I've come up on them! Anyway, the double cross should be great for light touring... its hard to find something out there if you are small.... i always have trouble getting a standover height I can deal with along with a decent top tube length.
