Google maps

While using Google maps to get directions for a car trip to another part of the country I noticed that an anailable option is to ask for directions by bicycle. Has anyone out there used these directions for long rides or even tours? What was your impression of these directions? I've been impressed with the detail... but don't really know if they are truly worthwhile. Where I live I have a hard time finding cycling routes that I like.

I put in my route to work and it actually came up with a different, shorter route. It was a little bit busier and actually sent me through a John Deere Factory Access road but it was one that I was not aware of. Coincidentally there is a Google biking maps ad associated with your post ( at least what I am viewing).
