Newbie from New York
Hi, my name is Becca. I've spent the last year riding my bike more and more and with this spring I want to start commuting to work and stores on it instead of driving everywhere. A neighbor gave me the bike I currently ride, a panasonic sport 500.
Im looking for information on bikes and parts and beginners bikes. The bike I have is rather uncomfortable, Im only 5'3 and its a pain. Since it is a 20+ year old bike, at the bottom of its line Im not sure if its worth putting money into or if its best to just buy a new bike all together.
Im basically asking for help, guidance, and some chill people to talk to.

Welcome to Bike Forums, Becca!
Have you adjusted your bike for proper fit? Sometimes minor adjustments can make a world of difference in comfort.
If the bike is too big for you then making adjustments won't do a whole lot of good. Then it would make sense to shop for a new bike that fits you.

Thanks for the welcome
I have not made any adjustments, the bike is a good 3 inches too high for me. I have really short legs, which causes a problem.

Thank yoiu for having me.
I'm and old man very old and I love my Sentinel Bike. Why back in 1976, I was blessed to come accross an airman in the Air Force who needed money right away. I offered to buy his bike for $200.00 dollars he showed me the purchase ticked and paid close to a thousand dollars with tax. I thought I go a great deal out of it. Well as time passes my sentinel has like me grown old but I keep it in top running condition. I took of the rat traps that came with it, by the time I hit 50 my body said slow down.
This bike has gotten me out of some pretty tight spots in my life and she is a doozy. MY question to you after reading your article on another Sentinel, I confused I thought my bike was made in the Good old USOFA. how can I find out who made this bike so I may order another sentinel peace to replace the front bent one. What ever you can do to help I would appreciate it.
Thank you
Abraham
