Hello from MN

My name is Sean, I live near Lake Minnetonka in the Western suburbs of the Twin Cities.

I currently don't ride as I am coming off of a 12 year hiatus. I grew up on a BMX bike, graduated to a Mt. Bike, and then moved to Chicago and stopped riding. Found the forum in a new search for some type of road bike to take advantage of my surroundings.

Been through the FAQ, doing a lot of searching in the Road Cycling forum, as well as the general. I am a bit unique to fit being 6'7" which makes things difficult. My goal was to find something used that is close to what I want and really learn what will work for me best before making a more permanent investment.

I'm very excited to explore a new side of cycling and happy I found this forum.

Sean

Thanks for the welcome.

I found something I couldn't say no to. Going to ride it for a while and see what I'd like to change. The stem is 20-30mm too long, but otherwise I fit really nice. This is the pre-purchase picture, for my legs I actually needed to lower the seat about a cm from the pic.

Picked it up last night and went out with my brother in law today. Put on 20.5mi in 2 hours with 5 stops. Tired, but feel really good. Hopefully my butt recovers by tomorrow as I'd like to stay on the saddle as much as possible.

My lungs died first.
Then my thighs
but now my ass hurts. The bike came with three different saddles though so time to start playing with position and seats.

Oh, sorry. 2003 Lemond Zurich, 853 Reynolds steel with Ultegra.

The front derailleur cable is just a hair stretched, and the front rim is out of true by about an 1/16th", a couple teeny knicks in the sticker and otherwise really clean. Getting a soft wash, wax, and clean-up in the next week.
