new to the forums

i recently purchased a specialized hardrock fs A1, kinda as a birthday present for myself. i am enjoying the bike tremendously; i use it to pedal to work(and to school on monday, wednesday, and friday soon!)as well as for purely recreational rides to the park, thru the park, etc.

i'm from NJ, i am a student and a p/t overlord at a local pizzeria. i havent ridden a bike regularly since i got my driver's license at age 17, a million years ago. and all my bikes prior were little bmx-type bikes(that i did no bike-crossing on...go figure!) with coaster brakes. so, bikes in general, bike maintenance, bike commuting, riding off-road: all of these things are very new to me!

i'm looking forward to participating on this forum...

jonR-yes, it's been a great birthday present!

as for bicycles and pizza...all i know is, my bicycles engine seems to run on pizza and cheesesteaks...which is one of the reasons that i wanted to start bike-commuting! i've been losign weight already, despite my marked appetite increase. it's pretty cool.

to everyone else: thanks for the warm welcome. this seem,s to be an excellent online community you got here.
