Location: I now live with my wife in beautiful (and hilly) San Francisco.

Bikes: I have a 3 speed Mission Bicycle. What I mostly ride though is a fixed gear that I built myself. I also have a Raliegh MTB that I'm hoping to turn into an Xtracycle, and I'm saving money for a lynskey ti frame to build my dream fixie.

Hello from San Francisco
I really am an ex-messenger - ten years working in NY and SF, but I've been off the bike for a long time. What brought me back was my excitement over the challenge of riding and building fixed gear bicycles, especially riding here in SF. Right now I'm riding with a 65" gear, which gets me up about half of the hills I encounter. Most of my riding is commuting and just getting around town, but I want to try some longer rides too. I'm riding a bike I put together my self, but I'm hoping in the future to put together another one with a titanium frame. Anybody who wants to get together and ride in SF, let me know!

Thanks for the replies... regarding the hills - when I started riding in SF most of the messengers were using Schwinn cruisers that belonged to the messenger companies. They weighed 60 lbs and had coaster brakes. It was assumed that we would walk up the steepest hills, but you can still get most places in SF without a lot of gears if you know your routes.
