Hello from Oregon City, OR

Hello all! I am from Oregon City, OR. I am new to trail riding and cross country, used to be a freerider. Sold my freeride rig after my daughter was born, the wife said I got hurt too much, so I bought an entry level 29er, Novara Ponderosa 29er, a 2009, and am getting back in shape. Got to used to shuttling. Nice to be here, hope to find some new trails. Trails I am riding most now are Powell Butte, and the Molalla Corridor trials, from the Hardy Creek trail head, my favorite I'd say. I used to ride Black Rock, Syncline, Post Canyon.

Hello and welcome! You might find suggestions for new trails in your local Regional forum (Pacific Northwest I suppose?) and/or the Mountain Biking subforum.

Welcome. Part of the reason I'm here is similar to yours. I broke my leg in a motorcycle crash (my fault) back in Nov. I broke the hell out of it, in three places. If there was oncoming traffic, I'd be dead now.

My wife has decided that motorcycling is too dangerous and that I should knock it off until we have kids and they are old enough that they will remember me if I get killed.

I told her bicycling is no safer than motorcycling, because I can't keep up with traffic. She doesn't buy it. Oh well.

Any kind of bicycling is fun to me except winter commuting. I'm going to try to start bike commuting again, using the local commuter train service.

Have fun!
