Aiming for more than a Zero

I arrived at the forum on a Google search for figuring out mile distances along the Santa Monica bikeway (for help with training for the NYC Marathon). I didn't find that answer but found others to lots of other questions and read several threads that were very interesting. My first day, I registered so I could offer advice to four people here on the forum on the subjects of bike commuting in LA since I've been at it for 6 years; hand numbness when riding on a mountain bike (try and keep the wrists straight) and problems with clipless pedals for a new rider (adjust it to the loosest setting and then tighten it two tics) and one other subject that I don't remember. I also browsed the multisport forum (triathlons for the last five years) and a few others. It seems like a great group of people with interesting thoughts and answers on a variety of subjects.

Anyway, I'm aiming to get at least one answer back on this Introduction Forum to avoid a big fat 0 next to my initial message so feel free to write back.
