You might be best on a three wheeler.
    Cat Trikes are very nice.

Are you going for a recumbent because you've tried a normal bike and it hurts your hip, or are you just expecting the recumbent to be more comfortable? If the latter, I'd try sitting on a few bikes before I made up my mind. If you haven't ridden for a while you'll find you feel less vulnerable on a conventional frame. If you do have to have a recumbent I agree with 10wheels - get a trike. Much easier to ride at low speeds, and from your description you won't be trying to break any speed records until you get a bit fitter.

I have a bad ball in my right side of my hip, after standing for more then 15 minute, is bad, I broke my trail bone last year which is no help at all, I've tryed all kind of seat's and it's a NO go...I did ride a Sun Tomahawk...the seat did not have any pain in it when I sat down or rode, I had the feeling that my feet pading the Handle bars,...can't find a Trike or a EZ-1 to look at around here....but we're going to Fla next week so I'm checking out the bike shop's..No See..NO SET...NO Buy...I wish I could get one like Wheels, Wow..thank might be my asnsew...But No way can I put out that keep of Money......just have to do the best I can.....
